For those women looking for a new wardrobe or the perfect outfit for that special occasion, look no further than the Lake Country Chic.  Inspired by the many lakes throughout Winter Haven, Gail Anderson chose the name of her clothing and accessories resale business as a way to connect with the local community.

After a long career in corporate retail and moving to Winter Haven five years ago, she saw that there was a niche for upscale resale clothing that wasn’t being served in the Winter Haven area.  Anderson opened shop three years ago.  She is located inside of The Red Geranium in downtown Winter Haven.

Anderson has a lot to consider when it comes to selecting clothes and accessories for the shop. “You have to have an eye for what kind of things women in Winter Haven want,” said Anderson, “you also have to consider the pricing, ticketing, keeping things neat and organized and researching what name brand prices are sold at so that I am competitive.”  The items chosen tend to look new, be unique and are reasonably priced.

When a client decides to consign with Anderson, they receive a contract explaining that 40 percent of their final sale goes back to them and 60 percent of the final sales stays with Anderson to cover operational expenses. At the end of their consignment, they have the option to take back what wasn’t sold or allow Anderson to donate it.

“I’m very focused on both customer service and client service,” said Anderson.   “My clients are the heart of my business.” If you ask her what she thinks of something you try on, she will tell you the truth. Anderson is into more than making a sale, she wants her clients to enjoy and love the products they buy.  A good tip when visiting her shop, if you find something you love, buy it, there’s probably only one of them.  It might not be there when you go back.

Lake Country Chic is always changing and evolving. If you go into her store one day and come back a few days later, the displays are completely different. “I drive sales by always making the store look new,” said Anderson. She even keeps her Facebook updated with photos of her most recent outfit suggestions.

Anderson has a passion for her clients and customers. “I love clothes, I love fashion and I really like interacting with my customers and helping them put together looks,” said Anderson, “I love getting excited about the clothes people bring me.”  Her motto is simple: ReChic, ReStyle and ReSell.

Hi Gail, loved meeting you today, was kind of hoping George would still be there. lol

I researched the mural on the wall outside your sweet shop. The artist also did one in Seattle. The art symbolism is of human masses & the action of the masses
