SMOKE ON THE WATER
Feb. 7 & 8 at 2400 Havendale Blvd. NW, Winter Haven. This annual BBQ competition is a Florida BBQ Association State Championship. Funds raised benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Polk County. More than 80 teams from across the country will compete. Start the party early and come for BBQ on Friday, February 7th at 6:00pm. The official festivities kick off at 10:00 am on Saturday. COLOR THE TRAIL 5K: THE HUNT FOR SASQUATCH
Feb. 8, 7am at Bone Valley ATV Park in Mulberry. Legend has it, Sasquatch has been lurking in the woods. This mysterious creature has set up traps full of color to distract all humans from finding him (or her)! Participants will enjoy a fun and adventurous run that features 3.1 miles of uneven terrain and blasts of color along the way. She has a clear, beautiful voice, strong songwriting ability all of which have drawn comparisons to younger, critically respected artists like Kelly Willis and legends such as Dolly Parton. Cook was born in Wildwood, Florida and hosts the morning radio show “Elizabeth Cook’s Apron Strings” on the Sirius XM radio station Outlaw Country on Channel 60. Feb. 21, 6-11pm & Feb. 22, 11am-11pm at Lake Wailes Park in Lake Wales. Back for its 36th annual family-friendly celebration.
