Sept. 4, 1-4pm at Honeycomb Bread Bakers. The Crystal Cup Craft Coffee Competition will have competitors brew locally-roasted coffee and present it to the audience. Cups are rated in a blind tasting by a panel of judges for the Critic’s Choice Award, and the audience will vote for the People’s Choice Award. Guest speakers Lisbeth Pacheco and Amelie Haakonsen will present on impactful coffee sourcing, and how modern cafes craft meaningful guest experiences. More info on FB @honeycombbread.

Sept. 10, 7:30pm at Gram Parsons Derry Down. Walter’s unique sound will fill your soul. For 10 years Parks, a Florida native, served as the sideman guitarist to Woodstock Festival legend Richie Havens. Now based out of St. Louis, Walter has recently co-written with Stan Lynch, former Tom Petty drummer, and has performed at various venues with R&B drum legend Bernard Purdie and at Lincoln Center with Judy Collins.

Sept. 17, 8am at Publix Joker Marchant Stadium. This event helps raise funds for patients with  a breast cancer diagnosis. The in-person 5k course will take a quick loop through the parking lot then head onto the paved paths of Lake Parker Park finishing back at the start line. Vendors and Sponsor booths will be set up for browsing. A month-long virtual race is available.

Sept. 17, 4:30pm at The Bike Shop of Winter Haven. We “slow roll” through Downtown Winter Haven and stop mid-roll to take in the Cypress Gardens Ski Team show. Then, we slowly roll back through town and end at Grove Roots for drinks and their featured food truck. You should seriously join us – it’s FREE! The Greater Winter Haven Chamber of Commerce will award the 95th annual Citizens of the Year Banker’s Cup Awards, honor the small and large business of the year, and have a few surprises throughout the night. In keeping with tradition, the evening will include a reflection of the past year from the Chamber Board Chairwoman Jennifer Fasking, of State Farm, who will pass the gavel to incoming Board Chairwoman Dr. Angela Garcia Falconetti, President of Polk State College.
