With over 500 acres of vineyards in Florida, the wine industry is growing in Florida every year.  There are 88 wine producers ultimately creating 99,108 jobs in agriculture, accounting, packaging, transportation and more.  With over 300,000 tourists visiting a Florida winery each year, it has an $11 billion economic impact on our state.* Muscadine grapes are native to Florida and have been used to make wine for hundreds of years.  Now, Florida wineries incorporate even more locally grown fruits like blueberries, strawberries, blackberries and even citrus to create wine.  Why not take a trip off the beaten path and visit a Florida winery?  Most wineries offer events, tours and wine tastings so you can make a day of it.  Hours vary by season and the weather, so always call ahead and make sure they’re open.  We have mapped out a wine trail for you, with distances between wineries just in case you’d like to spend a weekend visiting Florida wine country.  Go to our website and see even more listings!  Have a safe trip and always drink responsibly.  (Send pics!)

A local favorite, Keel & Curley Winery was started by Central Florida blueberry farmer, Joe Keel in 2003. Starting in his farmhouse kitchen, Keel has grown the winery to produce over 20,000 cases of wine a year. Keel & Curley is known for their three distinct blueberry wines, a sweet, semi-dry, and dry all made with 100% blueberry. Their selection of 7 fusion wines has also taken Central Florida by storm. The winery has a wine tasting experience for guests and is also available for events and weddings.

An environmentally friendly winery, Bunker Hill Vineyard & Winery in Parrish, lowers their carbon footprint by storing wines in “Glass Carboys” as opposed to oak barrels and uses 100% recycled wine bottles to package their product. A true Florida winery, Bunker Hill grows their own Muscadine grapes. Never mixing or blending their wines their motto is, “From the vine to the bottle.” Bunker Hill uses real corks to cork their unfiltered wines. The winery even has its own spooky ghost story with many purported other-worldly experiences. Guests can tour the vineyard and taste wine 11am-5pm Thursday-Monday.

Award-winning Florida Orange Groves Winery took home a bronze award for their Cranberry Key and a bronze for Blueberry Blue from the 2018 Florida State Fair International Wine and Grape Juice Competition. Florida Orange Groves wine development started by the Shook family in 1991 and opened its doors in September of 1997. They currently produce 43 different wines ranging from tropical fruit, citrus, berry and stone fruit, vegetable wines and more.

Island Grove Wine Company is located in Alachua County in North Central Florida. Their specialty is their 100% blueberry wines made with blueberries picked straight from their Florida plantations. They have a selection of adorably named spirits from Kinda Dry, Sorta Sweet, Backporch Peach, and Sunshine State Berry Sangria. Island Grove won 2 bronze awards for their Sunshine State Berry Sangria and Blueberry Moscato and 3 silver awards for their Sunshine State White Sangria, Estate Bottled Sorta Sweet Blueberry, and Estate Bottled Kinda Dry Blueberry from the 2018 Florida State Fair Int’l Wine and Competition.

After being urged by friends and family to start a winery, they did. Quantum Leap Winery in Orlando is on a mission to “reinvent the wine-to-market delivery process,” bringing consumers and product together in an environmentally friendly way.
