ON THE COVER:  Frankenstein’s Monster from Mary Shelley’s novel “Frankenstein” or “The Modern Prometheus” published in 1818

Happy October!

This month we talk with a husband and wife team making educational, exciting, and beautiful comic books together.  We also talk with a Polk County native living in LA, creating a true-crime podcast. Confection Candy Shop shares their views on the best spooky Halloween movies and what candy to eat while you watch them.   We welcome back the Lakeland Public Library, they give their book recommendations for a good scare in October.

We’ve added the calendar and the Tampa & Orlando Top Tens back in this month.  We removed them for obvious reasons back in April.  Please, before you go anywhere, call or check online to make sure it’s still happening.  With the uncertain nature of our days, you never know if something has been canceled without much warning.  Please #supportlocal whenever you can, there’s never been a more important time.

Continue to tag your Facebook and Instagram posts with #lkldhaven and you might find it printed in the November issue.  Show us what you love about living in Polk County!  Read our Haven magazine as well as the current calendar of events at havenmagazinees.com.  Thank you for picking us up & supporting LKLD, have a great month!
