15TH ANNUAL VISTEBALL 

Feb. 1, 6-10pm at Sun ‘n Fun.  VISTEBall is an indoor golf blowout where you can chip, putt, and play your way to great prizes. Attendees may participate in auctions, as well as a buffet dinner, open bar (stocked with beer, wine & margaritas), and dessert. MUSIC & DANCE IN PAINTING OF THE DUTCH GOLDEN AGE 

Feb. 8 - May 31 at the Polk Museum of Art. Music and dancing were a fundamental part of life in both the Dutch Republic and the Southern Netherlands in the 17th century, as reflected in the strikingly high number of Dutch and Flemish paintings that include dancing figures, groups of musicians, and compositions of musical instruments.  All the Masterworks in the exhibition come to the Museum from private European Collections and have not been seen by the wide public before.  863-688-7743. Feb. 08, 7am-3pm at Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium.  Presented by MIDFLORIDA. Join them for pancakes, sausage, coffee, OJ, music, games and other fun.   Admission is $8 for Adults and $4 for Children ages 2 through 12. Help them make this longest running event in Lakeland a great success to benefit the charities they support. CABARET 

Feb. 13 - 23 at the Loca Lee Buckner Theatre.  In a 1920’s Berlin nightclub (Kit-Kat Klub), the Emcee welcomes audience members, assuring them they will forget all their troubles — at the cabaret. With the Emcee’s songs as wry commentary, Cabaret explores the dark, heady, and tumultuous life of Berlin’s natives and expatriates as Germany slowly yields to the emerging Third Reich. ROLLER DERBY OPEN RECRUITMENT 

Feb. 13, 7pm at Swan Brewing in Lakeland.  Wanna be a part of the most badass sport in Lakeland? Come for a meet-and-greet with the Swan City Roller Derby Team. There’s no previous skating experience necessary!  They will have gear to try on, and answers to all roller derby related questions!  This is a great way to work out, make new friends, relieve stress, and feel a sense of accomplishment! 1 BILLION RISING POLK COUNTY: SATURDAY IN THE PARK 

Feb. 15, 3-5pm in Central Park in Winter Haven.  The culmination of the week wraps up with Music, Drumming, Song, Dance and guest speakers from the community. Face painting and Love notes art making. 1 Billion Rising is a global movement that raises awareness to violence against women and children. All donations/proceeds and ticket sales from events will directly impact the community through the Red Tent Initiative a Lakeland based non-profit that stands in the gap of community services and needs.

ELIZABETH COOK 

Feb. 16, 7pm at Gram Parsons Derry Down in Winter Haven.  Country singer/songwriter Elizabeth Cook made her Grand Ole Opry debut on March 17, 2000, appearing repeatedly thereafter.  She has a clear, beautiful voice, strong songwriting ability  all of which have drawn comparisons to younger, critically respected artists like Kelly Willis and legends such as Dolly Parton. Cook was born in Wildwood, Florida and hosts the morning radio show “Elizabeth Cook’s Apron Strings” on the Sirius XM radio station Outlaw Country on Channel 60. THE RUSSIAN NATIONAL BALLET: SERGEI PROKOFIEV’S “CINDERELLA” 

Feb. 26, 7:30pm at Branscomb Auditorium.  The Russian National Ballet returns to Florida Southern College to present its setting of Cinderella, composed by Russian giant Sergei Prokofiev between 1940 and 1945. This full-length ballet is in three acts, replete with beautiful costumes, grand scenery, elegant dancers, and of course, the famous glass slipper. THE 49TH ANNUAL CITIZENS BANK & TRUST LAKE WALES ARTS FESTIVAL
